Updated February 27, 2013. Welcome! I'm Joe Lizura, Television Executive Producer, and Television Meteorologist. For more than 25 years, I've spent my days either in front of the camera, most recently as an AMS certified Television Meteorologist
and show host (NBC, CBS, ABC, KUSI), or behind the scenes as a television show developer, Executive Producer, and start-up entertainment CEO (join Joe Lizura at Linkedin). When people ask me which I prefer the most, to be in front of the camera or behind it, I simply answer "Yes" - I love the television business because whether
I'm a newscast Meteorologist each evening, or writing television episodes for families and children to enjoy. I've worked with some really terrific writers, producers, designers, directors, camera operators, news directors, actors and songwriters, and together we've created some really amazing, fun television.

I was born and raised in New Jersey and attended Rutgers University where I received a Bachelor of Science in Atmospheric and Oceanic Sciences, a Bachelor of Arts in Communication and Bachelor of Arts in Advertising. My first break in television came by way of a weekend weathercasting job at WANE-TV in Fort Wayne, Indiana. After 6 months in Fort Wayne, I was offered a job as a Monday thru Friday weathercaster for WLOX-TV in Biloxi, Mississippi. Two years later I was offered a job doing the weather in Sacramento, California at KCRA-TV, where I was the Morning weathercaster for nearly two years.

My next job was the primary weathercaster in Cincinnati, Ohio at WLWT-TV working alongside none other than Jerry Springer, who at the time was a news anchor for the 5, 6, and 11 pm newscasts.
My stint in Cincinnati lasted one year when it was a trip back to California that made me one of San Diego's longest running television personalities being on the air for more than 20 years, first with NBC 7/39 and then with KUSI-TV.
During 2006, I entered the area of Executive Production, creating and writing a children's DVD series called "The Jumpitz". Two years later, I created and Executive Produced a television series called "Dos y Dos".
Working on Dos y Dos was an amazing experience as I had the opportunity to co-write 26 episodes of the award-winning children's television series which now air on Telemundo in Puerto Rico, Sorpresa! in the United States (where Dos y Dos airs 3 times a day - 7 days a week), the LATV Network in the United States, the ATB Network in Bolivia, Panamericana in Peru, and is scheduled for air this fall on Ecuavisa in Ecuador.
In 2011, I became President and CEO of The Allowance Media Group, which is developing nearly a dozen new pilots for production. I still enjoy living in San Diego, with frequent trips to Los Angeles and Hollywood as the new pilots get close to production.
In 2012 I had a fantastic opportunity to help start a foundation to help disabled veterans. It's called The Solar Alliance Foundation and it really is going to be a fantastic foundation. If you get a chance, visit the website and maybe even make a donation.
